Drugs worth Rs 2,100 crore seized: CM Hemant Sharma destroyed drugs

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wesnesday found driving a road roller on drugs bottles in a video shared by him.

CM Sarma shared a video of him where he can be seen destroying hundreds of seized drug bottles himself in Nagaon. He reshared this video to mark the International Day Against Drug Abuse.

CM Himanta Biswa said, that Assam had been waging a war against drugs in a bid to strike at this menace, during which the state recovered drugs worth over Rs 2,100 crore.

Along with the video CM Himanta Sarma wrote in X that, "Assam has been waging a war against drugs, striking at this menace at regular intervals and recovering drugs worth over ₹2,100 crore. We remain committed to creating a Drug-Free Assam, where our children are safe from the threat of narcotics and can lead a healthy life. On the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, we recommit ourselves to the larger goal of a Drug-Free Bharat!".
