Ramalinga Reddy resigned : Cabinet Friction After Portfolio Allocation
Early differences within the newly formed Karnataka Cabinet have emerged after senior Congress leader Ramalinga Reddy was unhappy with the portfolio assigned to him.
According to political sources, Reddy has reportedly expressed dissatisfaction after being allotted the Water Resources portfolio instead of the Bengaluru Development portfolio, which he was believed to have sought. Today in front of media, he has shared his resignation decision as a minister, within 48 hours of the portfolio allocation to him.
However, as of now, there has been no official confirmation from either Reddy or the Government of Karnataka regarding the acceptance of any resignation.
The development would represent one of the earliest signs of friction within the Congress-led administration following the cabinet expansion and distribution of responsibilities. Political observers note that portfolio allocation often becomes a sensitive issue in party-led governments, particularly when senior leaders expect key departments.
Further clarity is expected once an official statement is issued by Ramalinga Reddy or the state leadership.
